Hariyali Paneer

Paneer marinated in a green spicy mixture and cooked

Type: Paneer/Cottage Cheese Serving: 4 Cooking Time: 20 minutes


  • 500 g  paneer (Indian Cottage Cheese), cubed
  • Grind to a paste:
  • 3/4 cup ( approx. 50 g) cleaned and roughly chopped hara dhania (Coriander leaves)
  • 2-3 (or to taste) green chillies, roughly chopped
  • 2 tsp chopped ginger
  • 8 sabut kali mirch (Peppercorns)
  • 8 laung (Laung)
  • 1 tsp roughly broken, dalchini (Cinnamon) or 1/4 tsp powder
  • 2 badi elaichi (Black Cardamom), shelled
  • 1 tbsp salt or to taste
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • Grated or desiccated coconut to garnish


  • Grind the ingredients and mix in the lemon juice.
  • Marinate the paneer in this mixture for 1/2 hour at least.

  • Grill the paneer in a griller or pan fry in a non-stick pan with a thin layer of oil.

  • Serve hot garnished with the coconut.
