                                                Onions, sliced thin and uniform		250 g
 - 
Butter					3 tbsp
 - 
Oil					1 tbsp
 - 
Salt					2 tsp or to taste
 - 
Clear Stock				5 cups
 - 
Kali mirch, freshly ground			¼ tsp
 - 
Eggs					4 (optional)
 - 
Bread slices, cut into rounds		4
 - 
Grated cheese				4 tbsp
 -

                                          Heat butter and oil together and brown the onions in it over medium heat till a rich brown.
 
Add stock and bring to a boil, then simmer over low heat for 12-15 minutes. 
Add the salt and pepper.  
Place an egg in each bowl, and pour hot soup over.  
Cover the bread round with the grated cheese and place on top of the soup.  
Place the bowls under a griller and grill till the cheese is melted a bit and a light brown, and serve.
