Spaghetti Carbonara Sauce

Spaghetti in a smoky cream and egg based sauce

Type: Pasta Serving: 4 Cooking Time: 30 minutes


  • Spaghetti 200g
  • Water 4 cups ]
  • Salt 1 tsp ] mixed together
  • Oil 1 tbsp ]
  • Butter 2 tbsp
  • Onions, chopped fine 2 tbsp
  • Bacon, rind removed and chopped              ˝ cup (approx, 150 g before chopping)
  • Cream ˝ cup (120 g)
  • Eggs 2
  • Cheese, grated ˝ cup (60 g)
  • Salt ˝ tsp or to taste
  • Powdered black pepper 1/8 tsp


  • Melt butter and add onions and bacon. Cook till onions are soft then keep aside.
  • Beat the eggs, half the cheese, salt, pepper and the cream together.

  • Bring the water mixture to a boil and cook the spaghetti in it till ‘bite-like’ .

  • Drain it out in a colander and while still hot mix into the warm bacon mixture.

  • Add the egg mixture to this immediately, mix to coat the spaghetti well, and serve garnished with the rest of the cheese.
