Methi Ka Parantha (Fenugreek flavoured fried flat bread)

Indian flat bread, made by mixing methi/fenugreek leaves into the dough

Type: Bread Serving: 12-15 Cooking Time: 45 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 cups (200 g) methi (fenugreek) leaves, chopped fine
  • ½ -cup (60 g) besan (chick pea/ gram flour)
  • 1-cup (160 g) atta (whole wheat flour)
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp heeng (asafoetida)
  • 1/2 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
  • 1 tbsp chopped hara dhania (coriander leaves)
  • Approx. ½ -cup (120 g) ghee (clarified butter) for frying the  `paranthas'
 

Preparation

  • This is made by kneading all the above ingredients together, and then rolling and cooking like
  • Saada Parantha
