Grilled Mushroom-Cheese ‘Diamonds’

Grilled Mushroom Sandwiches

Type: Bread Serving: 4 Cooking Time: 30 minutes


  • Bread slices 8, cut into diamond shapes
  • Butter ¼ cup (60 g)
  • Mushrooms, sliced thin 1 cup
  • Salt 1 tsp or to taste
  • Kali mirch powder 1/8 tsp
  • Chopped green chillies to taste
  • Chopped coriander leaves 1 tbsp
  • Cheese, grated 1  cup


  • Heat 2 tbsp butter and add mushrooms over high heat.
  • Add salt, kali mirch, coriander and green chillies and saute a little more and take it off the heat and leave to cool.

  • Mix the cheese into the mushrooms.

  • Butter the bread slices on one side each, and place the slices, butter side down.

  • Place the cheese mixture over four of the slices, on the unbuttered side.

  • Cover with the other slices, buttered side on top.

  • Heat the griller and grill till brown on both sides.
