Savoury Egg Toast (Ande mein lipti double roti)

Bread wrapped in egg and cooked

  • Eggs, slightly beaten 2
  • Milk 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Green chillies, finely chopped to taste
  • Hara Dhania, finely chopped 2 tbsp
  • Powdered black pepper   tsp
  • Bread slices, crusts removed 4
  • Butter 4 tsp
  • Slit green chillies or chopped hara dhania or tomato ketchup for garnish


  • Mix the eggs, milk, salt, green chillies, dhania and black pepper well together.
  • Dip the bread slices into this mixture, turning to soak well.

  • Heat a teaspoon of butter in a non-stick pan. When butter melts, lower the heat and place one slice over it, and turn at once.

  • Let cook on both sides, till light brown and cooked through. Repeat with the rest of the slices.

  • Serve hot accompanied with tomato sauce.
