Meethi Roti (Rich sweetened flat bread)

  • Atta (whole wheat flour) 1 cups
  • Ghee cup (60 g), melted and cooled
  • Sugar cup (120 g)
  • Milk cup (120 g) approx.
  • Baking soda (Meetha soda ) 1/8 tsp
  • Salt tsp
  • Ghee for pan frying the rotis


  • Dissolve the sugar in half the milk over low heat and cool.
  • Mix the soda and salt into the atta. Rub the ghee into the atta, and knead into firm dough with the milk solution, adding more milk if required.

  • Press into thick rounds, prick and cook over low heat, smearing ghee over and around the roti.
