Santre ki Kheer (Sugar Free)

  • Skimmed milk 5 cups (1 kg)
  • Chhoti Elaichi (Green Cardamom), seeds only, powdered 4
  • Artificial sweetener, powdered   cup or to taste
  • Oranges (santra), segments peeled 4


  • Bring the milk to a boil in a wide, heavy based pan and then simmer till thicker (about evaporated).
  • Shut off the heat; add the elaichi and sweetener and leave to cool.

  • Break up the orange segments, leaving some for garnishing.

  • Mix the broken segments into the milk, transfer into a serving bowl and chill.

  • Garnish with the rest of the orange and serve.
