Kela Fries

Fried raw banana crispies

Type: Semolina (Soojee) Serving: 4-6

Ingredients

  • Banana (Kela), raw 2
  • Ginger paste 1 tsp
  • Garlic paste 1 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp or to taste
  • Chilli powder ½ tsp or to taste
  • Semolina (Soojee) 1 cup (approx)
  • Oil to pan fry
  • Lemon wedges and green chillies to garnish
 

Preparation

  • Boil the bananas along with the skin, till half cooked.
  • Peel and cut first into 2-3 pieces, then each piece width wise, so that you get flat, almost rectangular pieces.

  • Mix the ginger, garlic, salt and chilli powder, and then rub the mixture into the pieces.

  • Coat the pieces thickly with the soojee.

  • Heat a thin layer of oil in a pan and fry on both sides till a light brown.

  • Serve hot garnished with the lemon and green chillies.
