Ingredients
|

Fish fillets 4
-
(marinate in 1 tbsp lemon juice and 1 tsp salt for ten minutes, and wash off)

Cumin (Jeera) 2 tsp

Onions, grated 1 cup
-
Tomatoes, grated 1 cup
-
Coriander (Dhania) powder 2 tsp
-
Salt to taste or 1 ˝ tsp
-
Sugar 1 tsp
-
Garam masala ˝ tsp
-
Water, as required

Coriander leaves (hara dhania), chopped 6 tbsp

Green chillies, chopped to taste

Preparation

Heat 2 tbsp water in a pan and add the cumin when it comes to a boil.
When the cumin turns a little darker, add the onions and sauté till they look transparent.
Add the tomatoes and sauté till they look glossy and leave the bottom of the pan.
Add the coriander powder, salt, sugar and garam masala and stir fry 4-5 times.
Add 1 cup water and cook till well blended. Mix in the coriander leaves (leaving some for garnish) and green chillies.
Spread the mixture in a layer, increase the heat and place the fish fillets in a single layer over it.
Leave thus till underside is slightly opaque (about 30 seconds) and flip the fillets over.
Lower the heat, cover and cook till done (about 5 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fish).
Lift the fish out of the pan and place in a single layer on to a serving dish and spoon the mixture over.
Garnish with the rest of the coriander leaves and serve hot.
