Jeera Rice (Micro)

Type: Rice Varieties Serving: 6-8

Ingredients

  • Oil 2 tbsp
  • Jeera (Cumin seeds) 2 tsp
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Rice 2 cups (360 g)
  • Water 3 cups
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp
 

Preparation

  • Clean the rice and wash well till the water runs clear.
  • Soak the rice in water for about ½ an hour.

  • In a microwavable dish (which should be at least double the capacity of the rice and water, so it does not boil over ), place the oil and cook at HI for 30 seconds.

  • Add the Jeera, mix well and cook covered at HI for 1 minute.

  • Drain the rice and mix into the oil mixture.

  • Add lemon juice and cook, covered at HI for 5 minutes, then at 70% for 10 minutes.
