Ingredients

Rice, picked, washed and soaked 2 cups

Pudina (Mint leaves), chopped 2 tbsp

Hara dhania (Coriander leaves), chopped 2 tbsp

Ghee (Clarified Butter) ¼ cup
-
Dal chini (Cinnamon), broken ¼ tsp
-
Laung (Cloves) 4
-
Chhoti elaichi (Green Cardamom) 2
-
Onion, grated ½ cup
-
Ginger-garlic paste 2 tsp
-
Tomato puree 1 cup
-
Green chillies, slit 4
-
Salt 2 tsp or to taste

Hara Dhania (Coriander leaves) for garnish

Preparation

Heat the ghee and add the dal chini, laung and elaichi.
Add the onions and ginger garlic paste and saute till onions are a light brown.
Add the tomato puree and saute till fat separates.
Add the green chillies and salt, turn around a few times.
Add the rice, pudina and dhania and mix well. Add 3 cups water and bring to a boil.
Lower the heat, cover and cook till all the liquid is absorbed.
Serve hot garnished with the hara dhania.
