Almond Treat

A mouth watering cake with almonds in every bite!

Type: Desserts Serving: 20 Cooking Time: 40 minutes


  • Oven Temp: 350 F-180 C
  • Flour (Maida) 1cup (120 g)
  • Almonds 1 cup, ground to a powder
  • Sugar, powdered 1 cup (360 g)
  • Baking powder 2 tsp
  • Salt tsp
  • Oil cup (180 g)
  • Almond Essence tsp  
  • Eggs 3
  • Hot water cup
  • Cake tins, 8 round, or  7 square 2 OR
  • A ring mould (I have used a bundt pan)


  • Line the cake tins with grease proof paper or grease and flour. The ring shape will have to be greased and floured of course!
  • Sift the flour and baking powder into a mixing bowl. Add the ground almonds.

  • Add the salt, oil, essence and eggs and beat with a wooden spoon or electric beater.

  • Add the hot water and continue to beat till smooth.

  • Divide the batter into the two tins (or whatever pan you are using) and bake in a pre-heated oven for 35-40 minutes or till done.
